Annotation 1

Bayard Rustin was a activist, he was remebered as the organizer of the 1963 "March on Washington", one of the most nonvoilent protests. He used some of Ghandi's techniques to help the protests run smoothly. Also he helped Martin Luther King become a symbol of nonviolence. Even though he achieved alot he still got threatened, beaten, arrested, and silenced. Although people were homophobic he still was open to the gay rights. But his focuses was economic and civil rights. Him being so versitile with his believes contributed majorly to the end of segregation. He was with martin Luther King to help assist the boycott in 1956. he encouraged boycotters to have a nonviolent approach.
