Annotation 2

Bayard Rustin was a close advisor to Martin Luther King. He was a organizer of the civil rights movement. He was one of 12 children. Rustin dedicated his life to nonviolence. Also he joined the Fellowship of Reconciliation. He organized compaigns to help people become more nonviolent. Even though he was arrested, King still wanted him to be his advisor beacuse of his intelligence. Roy Wilkins which was also involved in the movement, made Bayard seem like a bad person to be with King because of his criminal background. All in all he guided a organization that would bring over 200,000 participants to the nations capital.
